Family counseling involves the whole family or several family members. This approach is used to help families work through and/or adjust to issues and challenges affecting the entire family. Sometimes the problem may be exhibited by a child, although this is not always the case. The program is designed to help parent and child focus on positive qualities; give parents constructive behavior management skills; to guide them in developing techniques for managing anger and to teach parents how to listen, respect and respond to their children’s feelings. It emphasizes family relationships as an important factor in psychological health. We believe involving families in solutions is often beneficial.
